This was a passion project to create a Shopify store for a perfume brand. The website was made by customizing Dawn, a free Shopify theme, adding in metafields & objects, custom code, and a custom section to give the website a semi-custom feel and deliver a good experience to shoppers.

Minimalist Fragrances

SHOPIFY WEBSITE DESIGN

Minimalist Fragrances is an environmentally-conscious company that creates perfumes and merch with subtle scents and simple packaging.

The brand has a minimalist vibe with use of black and white as the main brand colors paired with little pops of colors in a way that's not overpowering.

This helps the product to be front and center and appeals to their target audience, who don't want overpowering scents and are attracted to a minimalist vibe.

ABOUT THE BRAND

The goals for this project was to build a website that
  • Is intuitive, looks professional, and is easy to navigate for shoppers with UX strategies weaved into the website that make it easier for shoppers to buy. 
  • Is based on Shopify's Dawn theme with enough customization to make it feel a bit custom.
  • Fully setup on the Shopify backend with products, discounts, shipping settings, and apps that make receiving orders and getting leads an easy process.

The Process

Custom fonts were added using code and editing the theme's Liquid.

A multicolumn section on the homepage highlighting the features of the products with a focus on how eco-conscious the brand is and other attractive features like free shipping.

A custom-coded scent of the week section on the homepage that highlights a different perfume each week and draws customers' attention.

Additions like a free gift floating icon popup (set up using a Shopify app) to motivate more sales, a review and featured in section to build brand trust, and a footer with two menus for easy navigation and a brand logo for an elevated feel. 

Product pages were customised with metafields & objects to add in fragrance keynotes,  important features of the perfume (using icons & text), custom info for each product, and a promo bar (buy 2+ items, get 10% off). These all help to draw customers' eyes to important information that can influence their decision to buy.

And much more on the front and backend to create a seamless customer experience and really showcase all this brand has to offer, on both mobile and desktop.
